Instructions for Use – Finias Dance & Bridal Shoes
Finias professional dance and bridal shoes are designed for high-performance movement, control and elegant appearance on the dance floor. To ensure safe and long-lasting use, please read these instructions carefully and follow the recommendations during everyday use.
Important: Finias dance and bridal shoes are primarily intended for indoor use on clean, smooth dance floors or equivalent surfaces. Outdoor and street use is only suitable for models ordered with a dedicated outdoor rubber sole.
1. Intended use
- Finias shoes are made for social and competitive dancing, as well as formal and bridal occasions.
- By default, they are intended for use on indoor, smooth and dry surfaces (dance floors, laminate, smooth wood and similar).
- Outdoor, wet, gravelly or uneven surfaces accelerate wear and may increase the risk of slipping, so please avoid using the shoes in such conditions.
- The shoes are not protective or safety footwear and must not be used as industrial or safety work shoes.
2. Fitting and adjustment
- Before first use, make sure that the size, width and shape of the shoe are appropriate for your feet. If it feels too tight, painful or unstable, do not use it for dancing until you have consulted us or an authorised retailer.
- Adjust buckles and straps so that your foot is held securely but without cutting into the skin or affecting circulation. The strap should stabilise your foot but must not cause pain.
- Break in new shoes gradually: wear them for shorter periods at first, then increase the duration and intensity step by step.
3. Safe use
- With high-heeled models, take extra care on stairs, ramps, uneven surfaces and in narrow spaces. Use handrails whenever possible.
- Do not drive a vehicle while wearing high-heeled dance or bridal shoes, as they may reduce control over the pedals.
- Wet, oily, dusty or icy surfaces may reduce grip – in such conditions, use the shoes with great care or avoid wearing them.
- Hard impacts (such as hitting stairs, stones or metal grates) may damage the heel or sole – try to avoid this type of load.
- For children’s sizes and models, use should always be supervised by an adult.
4. Care and cleaning
- After wearing, allow the shoes to air at room temperature in a well-ventilated place.
- If the shoes become wet, do not dry them on radiators, heaters, in a dryer or in direct sunlight. Let them dry naturally.
- For smooth leather uppers, clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth; if needed, apply leather care products according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- For patent leather, use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth only; avoid harsh or solvent-based cleaners that could damage the finish.
- For suede or nubuck, use a dedicated suede brush and avoid soaking or using aggressive cleaning agents.
- The inner lining can be gently wiped with a slightly damp cloth; always allow it to dry completely before storing in a closed space.
- Do not machine-wash the shoes, as this may cause irreversible damage.
5. Sole and heel maintenance
- Leather or suede dance soles should be refreshed periodically with a dance sole brush to maintain grip.
- For outdoor rubber soles, regularly check that no stones, glass or other sharp objects are stuck in the tread and remove them carefully if necessary.
- The heel tip naturally wears down over time. When it is visibly worn, the shoe may become unsafe to use and the heel base may be damaged – in this case, have the heel tip replaced as soon as possible by a professional.
- Prolonged use with a heavily worn heel may lead to damage that does not qualify as a manufacturing defect.
6. Expected lifetime and wear
- The lifetime of dance and bridal shoes depends on frequency and intensity of use, surface quality, body weight and perspiration.
- For intensive use (daily training, regular competitions), wear will be significantly faster than for occasional or hobby use.
- Normal wear of the sole, heel and upper resulting from proper use is a natural process and does not in itself indicate faulty manufacture.
7. Faults and complaints
- If you notice any signs that may indicate a material or manufacturing fault, stop using the shoes immediately.
- Please take clear photos of the issue and keep your proof of purchase (invoice / receipt or order number).
- Contact Finias customer service or the place of purchase (Finias webshop or authorised retail partner) and provide all necessary details (name, contact, place and date of purchase, description of the problem).
- Customer service: info@finias.hu – we will get back to you with the next steps as soon as possible.
8. Storage and environmental considerations
- Store the shoes in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
- For longer storage, consider using shoe trees or lightly stuffing the toe box with paper to help maintain the shape.
- When the shoes are no longer suitable for use, if possible, pass them on, donate or recycle them instead of disposing of them in mixed household waste.
These instructions are intended to support the safe and comfortable use of Finias shoes and complement the information provided in our General Terms and Conditions and warranty notices.
